Where to go: Palembang
Actually its been a several months since I went to Palembang, Indonesia, I already forget the detail bout the trip but i would like to share some of the pics and things that I still remember :D
Me and my other two friend took the train from Bandar Lampung to Palembang from Tanjung Karang train station. We departed at 9 p.m and arrive in Palembang approximately at 8 a.m. Our friends picked up us in the train station. Well..for your information, Palembang is extremly HOT..literally XD .
The greatest part of this city, of course, the food especially the very well-known 'mpek-mpek'. Our friends took us to this restaurant called Vico *just across the Palembang Indah Mall*. Actually there are alot of famous mpek2 restaurant, but this one also offered a very delicious drink, I dont know how to call it..red bean ice? Well..something like that. :)
Then we took some tour to the Gelora Sriwijaya, the venue of South East Asian Games 2011.
We spent the night at the side Musi river, The longest river in Sumatera island, enjoying the view of Ampera bridge at night.
On the second day, we went to the Kemaro island, a delta in the middle of Musi river. It took about 30-40 minute by boat to reach this place. This place is known for the Legend of Forever Love *Go check the story your self*. You can see a temple and pagoda there, and people can also go for a picnic with family in here :).
.
Well..it was a short good trip to Palembang. I didn't got the chance to explore the city very much. But hey, good friends, good foods, great holiday and a lot of pictures to remember it all, what else can you ask right? ;)

Where to go: Klara Beach
I just spent my saturday with friends at The Klara Beach, Lampung. The name Klara is actually stand for 'Kelapa Rapat" *kelapa=coconut and rapat..mmh..what?tight?hhahaha* well.. as you may see in your way to the beach, there are a lot of coconut trees and it grow close to each other *very creative indeed ;D*
From Klara Beach we can take ship to the nearest island which *people said* have a better beach than the mainland. However, it was quite windy when we were there so we didn't have the chance to sail :(
So we decide to rent a small hut in the beach and start to cook the fish that we bought earlier in the fish market and ate at the beach. The rest of the day was spent by swimming at the beach. The water is swallow, but you have still have to be careful with your step. I accidentally got a lil cut on my foot from stepping something *a rock perhaps* sharp.
Here are some the pics I took in there..

Coffee and Life
I'm a fan of coffee, drink it when I need it to stay awake late at night, to refresh my mind, or just as a drink to accompany me in a life-update sessions with friends. I once got an amazing book for my birthday present from a close friend of mine, written by the very talented Dewi Lestari, the book called "Filosofi Kopi"
The book is easy to read, yet full with deep thought of life. So let me quote a line that say it all.
and today while I'm taking a lil break from work, I spend some times reading post in 9GAG *no comment on this okay XD *. Then I read this awesome post.. A jar and two cups of coffee by reinelleb. You should click the link and read the post your self. But here are some highlights that i love.

The book is easy to read, yet full with deep thought of life. So let me quote a line that say it all.
”Sesempurna apapun kopi yang kamu buat, kopi tetap kopi, punya sisi pahit yang tidak mungkin kamu sembunyikan.”*more or less it goes like this: No matter how perfect is the coffee that you made, coffee will always be a coffee, it has that bitterness that you cant hide*
and today while I'm taking a lil break from work, I spend some times reading post in 9GAG *no comment on this okay XD *. Then I read this awesome post.. A jar and two cups of coffee by reinelleb. You should click the link and read the post your self. But here are some highlights that i love.
When life seems to be too much to handle, just remember two things " a ajar and two cups of coffee"
First lesson learned..make your family, your children, your health, your friends, and all the important stuff the priority of your life, and second..*let me quote this one* "no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend".
Well you can learn life lesson from anywhere, a coffee, a book, and even..from 9GAG..:D

Where to Eat: Portico
I spent my weekend with two of my closest friends and my boyfie at Portico. A very beautifully design restaurant and lounge at the lobby of Senayan City, Jakarta, Indonesia. The place is comfortable for a life-update-session, but its quite pricey. Do check their facebook page at Portico Terrace Bistro Jakarta .
We ordered this yummy lava cake,
mmh..i forget the last one, a banana crepes or some thing..:D
All served with vanilla ice cream, yummy.. Well, nothing make you day better than good friends and good foods, especially when we shared some great news :) .

Where to go: Teluk Kiluan part 2
our vacation at Teluk Kiluan continue to the second day, and the main event was dolphin cruise. Teluk Kiluan is well-known for its dolphin population and if the weather is good and the tight is not to high, and..with a little..mmh,,no, make it a lot of luck..you'll be able to see lot,,and looot of them swimming freely in a group.
We have to start early if we want to see the dolphins, the local fisherman already gathered at 6.30 a.m with their boat called jungkung , a small boat that can take up to three person. The ride to the place where the dolphins usually swims take about 15 minutes, a new experience for me to be in a boat THAT little to sail right to the OPEN SEA. It was both scary..and awesome.. :D.
After sailing for about half an hour, our boat still can't see any of the dolphins, and looking at the other boat from the distance, i could tell that their luck wasn't any better than us. Well, it seems like we already sailed forever when our fisher man said we had to called it off for today as the weather were not looking good. Feeling sad and disappointed, there were nothing else we can do at the moment but to head back to the beach.
However, on our way back to the bay, the fisherman change the direction of the boat all of sudden. I didn't realize it for while, until I see a black fin in the distance and then my friend start to yell 'DOLPHIIINS'. And there they are..one..two..and then, we realized we sailing right on top of the herd and still a lot of them not too far form us. I can't explained our feeling that time. Well, you have to experience it your self i think ;) .
Right after we arrived at the beach, we know that out of the 8 small jungkung that sailed, we're the only boat that manage to see the dolphins that day. Such a great great way to start this 2012 ;)
The rest of the day was spent at the little island beach till noon. The view from there was also unforgettable. It makes you wanna come back again,,and again.. It was some how felt like you watched 3D painting of beach, mountain, reef, and little boats sailing back and forth.
We headed back home at 4 p.m with a lot things on mind..one thing for sure..we will come back and enjoy the place when the weather is nice and the time is little bit longer.
A litlle note for you who want to travel to TelukKiluan :
- Our trip was all set up by the KiluanDolphin crew, do check their twitter account @kiluandolphin. It includes the ride, place to stay *you can choose either tent or room in their cottage*, jungkung, and they also rent the snorkeling equip.
- Bring you own snorkeling equipment if you have one, for the beach right in front of the place we stay is really nice for snorkeling.
- Bring flash light, underwater camera, SUNBLOCK..dont forget to bring the highest SPF you can found.
- Bring snack, mineral water, softdrink and easy to serve food, because you are far from any store.
- Travel after march for a whiter sand and clearer beach *so they said*
- As I said, the road is not so smooth..so if you wanna travel with your own car, make sure you bring a big one XD.

Where to go: Teluk Kiluan
I have to tell you guys about my new year eve at Teluk Kiluan, Lampung, Indonesia *googling it, and I believe you understand what makes me this excited XD *. Sitting on the beach, snorkeling, watching star, searching for dolphins! yes.. a real life dolphins. It was amazing!!..
Ah Well, first thing first, the adventure started on Saturday, 31st of December, when our travel agent picked us at 8 a.m from my office *it is the best meeting point for me and 6 of my friends*. Teluk Kiluan is 4-5 hours driving from Bandar Lampung, and gotta warn you guys that the trip to Kiluan is an adventure of its own, about half of the road are in bad shape *I've read it before and still..I want to go :) *.
However, along the way you will see nature at it best, from driving beside the beach *you'll pass couple of beaches such as Klara beach*, then looking at the green rice fields, the mountain, until the sea view from high above..for me, it's all worth the journey. When we arrived at the Teluk Kiluan's gate, our 'off-road' adventure is not over yet. But looking at scenery from the gate, our excitement become extremly high from there.
After a long way down the hill, crossing a little river, and driving through villages, we finally arrived at the 'basecamp' *its what our driver called the place*. We took a small boat *and guess what, its not the smallest boat we're goin to ride there* from the basecamp to our camping ground. Camp? yes..we did camp there, in a tent, how cool is that? hahaha.. We finally arrived at 1 p.m.
The problems are, december is rainy season, and there is this wind blowing from the sea making the shore not as clean as it has to be. But the scenery is still breath taking..white sand, clear water, starring at the mountain, and just across our beach, lays a small island with amazing beach.
We took a rest, look around the place, and then start to snorkeling near the beach till our heart content. The rest room is limited so we need to be patient before we can clean our selves, but it's okay as waiting in Kiluan, for me was actually a great and peaceful time on the beach looking at the ocean. When the night fall we were simply sitting at the dock looking at the night sky till dinner served. Food was never taste so good, well..obviously we were exhausted, plus the fish was very fresh and on top of that, we ate at the beach hearing the sound of wave. Relaxing :D
Midnight was marked by the endless fire work and sounds of trumpet, and just before we realized it..it 2012 already. Such a great way to end a year..cant wait for the morning to do some dolphin cruise.

Never Ending Vacation
Looking back at 2011, I realized a lot of things happened to me. Just 3 month before the year ended, i was transferred to another city due to my work. Ah well, it would be a total lie if I said I wasn't disappointed, shocked, sad..well, you named it. But then, life goes on.
New place, new friends, new office, new boss, new at being far from home. Share a house with two girls that i just known for a very short time. Learning to live on my own. Going to a place I'm not familiar with. Those kind of things,I believe, can be either fun or depressing. So I decided, if I have to live through it, I'll do it..while having fun. So I make this new photo albums on my facebook and named it 'Never Ending Vacation'. I never know what kind of pics that will be uploaded there, but it gave me a new point of view for the whole things. And you may guess, it has been such a wonderful adventures one after another for me. Life is not bad at all for me in this new place. It just became what I choose to call, a never ending vacation.
Yeah..we never know what life will bring us, but we can at least decide how to live it. No, it wont be a fairytale~like life..sh*t happened people, but if you look it from a better perspective, like a good friend of mine like to say, it may be just another bless in disguise.

So..New year, new start, I wish all of us a great year ahead..
